US$450 Blackberry Classic coming December 17th 2014 – What the Blackberry Q20 has become with QWERTY Keyboard and Android Apps

Dear Reader, are you still a fan of the Blackberry like Simone Clarke-Cooper, a media personality on Television Jamaica, who since 2011 has been toting a Blackberry as stated in the article “Necessary Luxury - Simone Clarke-Cooper”, published Sunday, May 08, 2011, The Jamaica Observer?

Or like Kim Kardashian who recently admitted that she regularly buys them on Ebay in case they go out of business as noted in “Kim Kardashian's on a mission to save BlackBerry”, published October 27, 2014 5:03 PM PDT by Shara Tibken, CNET News and “Why Kim Kardashian has a stash of BlackBerry phones”, published Tuesday 28 October 2014 13.01 GMT by Samuel Gibbs, The UK Guardian?

Despite the advantages being touted by the “smart crowd”, like the ability to use Android Launch to spice up its looks as noted in my Geezam blog article entitled “How to change your smartphone Home Screen and create a Personal Assistant using Android Launchers”?

Well I’ve got great news for you.

Blackberry is launching the Blackberry Classic come Wednesday December 17th 2014 for US$450 as stated in the article “BlackBerry To Ship A Classic BlackBerry With Modern Software In Mid-December For $450”, published November 15th 2014 by Greg Kumparak, TechCrunch.

This is the Blackberry Q20 which got rebranded back in April 2014 by Blackberry CEO John Chen who apparently had difficulty remembering its new name as noted in the article “BlackBerry CEO says Q20 renamed 'BlackBerry Classic'”, published April 10, 2014 7:38 AM PDT by Roger Cheng, CNET News.

US$450 Blackberry Classic – What the Blackberry should have been QWERTY Keyboard and Android Apps

With early success from India as it relates to the Blackberry Z3 that was selling like hot Bread earlier in July 2014 as stated in my blog article entitled “Blackberry blogs positive reviews of Passport as Z3 sells out in India - Blackberry Passport may be their ticket on the Indian Express”, it’s no wonder that Blackberry CEO John Chen has turned his attention to making another Blackberry with an easy to use QWERTY Keyboard but with a more traditional look and feel.

The Blackberry Classic is what the Blackberry should have been without having to become a smartphone in order to stave off the onslaught from the Apple iPhone and the horde of Google Android smartphones. Please note that this is the Blackberry Q20 as mentioned back in May 2014 in my blog article entitled “Blackberry to launch Phablet with Blackberry 10.3 by Fourth Quarter 2014 - Profitability in the Far East as Phablets, BBM 2.0 and Wearables are Trending in 2016”.

According to its specs as mentioned in the article “BlackBerry Classic with QWERTY keys and Android apps available to pre-order now for £350, $450”, published November 14, 2014 7:32 AM PST published Rich Trenholm, CNET Reviews, the design is true to its name with a few minor upgrades. It's packing a Dual-Core 1.5GHz Processor supported by 2GB of RAM and 16GD of ample Internal Storage.

You can up that with an extra 64GB microSD Card. Not only is it running Blackberry’s own BlackBerry 10.3.1 OS (Operating System), but it’s also able to run Google Android Apps from Amazon’s App Store.

Something that is sure to make Simone Clarke-Cooper add the Blackberry Classic to her Christmas Shopping List as suggested in the article “Prepare your Christmas wish lists, BlackBerry fans! The Classic is up for pre-order”, published November 13, 2014 By Andy Boxall, DigitalTrends.

The 3.46" Capacitive touchscreen has also been upgraded to basic HD at 720p resolution with a 291 ppi (pixels per inch) that renders images from the 8 Megapixel Camera well. Selfies aren’t a problem here either; it's got a 2 Megapixel camera for taking those on the fly, worth mentioning to Kim K when next she decided to go shopping for a Blackberry.

Best of all, with those specs, it can handle full blown 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) Internet on its improved browser and is a blazing fast experience for those who have the Blackberry Q10 and the Z3.

With the success of the recently launched US$500 Blackberry Passport in India painted in Red and the new Snapchat-like updates to BBM (Blackberry Messenger), Blackberry is on a steady recovery path as stated in my blog article entitled “BBM's Timed and Retracted Messages - How to retrieve Nude Selfies on BBM's take on Snapchat with Improved HD Pictures, BBM Sticker and BBM Music Discovery”.

The US$450 Blackberry Classic, now currently on pre-order on the Blackberry Store  will ride the new wave of popularity thank to the rising prosperity of India and eventually China!
